Diving can be a complicated endeavour, and conducting good surveys needs a reliable team. From foreshore surveys to marine life inventories, to scientific research our team has the skills and experience needed to come through in challenging conditions. Or just crush a good day of diving, that’s nice too.

Underwater Video Surveys

Sometimes you need information that a SCUBA diver can’t provide. Whether it’s surveying depths beyond 40m or applications where it’s just not practical to have a dive team, underwater video can be a fantastic alternative. Towed video camera surveys, dropcam surveys, or ROV surveys; I’ve used them all and they each have pros and cons depending on the application.

UAV Surveys

I do more than just underwater surveys, sometimes an elevated viewpoint is needed to provide the right information. Drones are incredible tools, and knowing the right way to go about collecting aerial data is key, and something I specialize in.

We didn’t see anything crossing from Hawaii to Haida Gwaii, and then 1000nm offshore we got greeted from some Dalls Porpoises reminding us how amazing the wildlife is in British Colombia

This big-beautiful brown Lingcod came to see what all the fuss was about. Lucky for you Lingcod we’re sciencing and not having fish and chips for dinner. I love the way they push the transect tape out of the way at the end: ‘I’m a boss and this tapes gotta get out of my way’

I loved getting to dive with the Galapagos Sharks in Oahu, but I was super surprised seeing how different the sharks were when I was in a shark cage. Comfortable. Curious. They could tell the humans couldn’t ‘get’ them, and they seemed all the more confident. Never expected the shark cage to be there to protect the sharks from the humans.
